Misty L. Loughry, Ph.D.

Dr. Loughry joins Crummer with over 20 years teaching experience. Her most recent experience in teaching was at Georgia Southern University where she taught management. She was previously a member of the management faculty at Clemson University where she taught strategy. She also taught strategy and organizational behavior at the University of Florida. Prior to beginning her academic career, Dr. Loughry worked in banking, where she held positions including credit analyst, branch manager, and assistant vice president of small business lending.

Dr. Loughry’s research centers around control in organizations and teamwork, and her findings have been published in multiple journals. She is also a member of the Editorial Board for Academy of Management Learning & Education, and she has been a co-principal investigator on three National Science Foundation (NSF) grants totaling $4.3 million.

She is a co-developer of the CATME SMARTER Teamwork system of web-based tools to support teamwork in higher education classes. The CATME Peer Evaluation and Team-Maker tools won the Premier Award for Excellence in 2009.

She holds a Ph.D from the University of Florida with concentrations in strategy and organizational behavior. She also received her MBA from Loyola College in Maryland.
