George D. and Harriet W. Cornell Professor of Economics | Associate Dean | Chief Operating Officer

William Seyfried, Ph.D.

“As an economist, one of the most attractive aspects of teaching graduate business students at the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College is emphasizing the practical aspects of economics as it relates to the business world. Given the small class size, we are able to engage in discussions examining the current state of the national and global economy and how it affects business decision making.”

Bill Seyfried is the George D. and Harriet P. Cornell Professor of Economics as well as the Associate Dean and Chief Operating Officer of the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College. His expertise is in the areas of macroeconomics, including the Fed and monetary policy, as well as the interaction of the financial system and the economy.

He has published extensively in professional journals including the Australian Economic Review, the American Economist, Journal of Economics and Finance, and Applied Econometrics and International Development. He has also authored instructor’s manuals for leading textbooks in the areas of money, banking and financial markets, as well as international economics.

Dr. Seyfried served on the Econometrics Council of the Florida Chamber Foundation as well as on the Governor’s Council of Economic Advisors for the state of Arkansas. He has been quoted in numerous publications including Financial Times, Forbes.com, MSNBC.com, CNN-Money, the blog of the Atlanta Federal Reserve, LA Times, Chicago Tribune, Orlando Business Journal, Orlando Sentinel, and various TV and radio stations
