AI Expert Jay Liebowitz Joins Crummer as Professor of Business Innovation and Industry Transformation
We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Jay Liebowitz, D.Sc. as the Professor of Business Innovation and Industry Transformation at the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College.
A distinguished authority in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Dr. Liebowitz brings unparalleled expertise and a wealth of experience in AI research, application, and education.
Dr. Liebowitz has been at the forefront of AI since the early 1980s, making significant contributions to the advancement of the field. As the Founder and Chair of The World Congress on Expert Systems for eight years, Dr. Liebowitz spearheaded one of the most influential gatherings in AI, attracting over 1,000 attendees annually from 40-50 countries. He served as the Chaired Professor of AI at the prestigious US Army War College, where he imparted knowledge and shaped the minds of future leaders in AI strategy and implementation.
With a tenure of 24 years as the Founding Editor-in-Chief of a top-tier AI international journal published by the global information analytics company Elsevier, Dr. Liebowitz has played a pivotal role in shaping the discourse and dissemination of cutting-edge AI research worldwide. He has authored numerous books and articles spanning AI, Analytics, and Knowledge Management, enriching the academic literature and informing practitioners globally.
Dr. Liebowitz also brings extensive industry experience having held various roles in prominent organizations, including NASA and the Navy Center for Applied Research in AI/NRL, where he applied AI solutions to real-world challenges and fostered innovation. He continues to share his expertise through lectures and consultations worldwide, solidifying his reputation as a leading authority in AI.
As part of his role as Professor of Business Innovation and Industry Transformation, Dr. Liebowitz will lead the development of a new center at Rollins and Crummer, the Center for AI-EDGE (Executive-Decision-making, Governance, and Execution). The center will be designed around realizing expectations of AI for the executive, focused on improving decision-making processes through AI, addressing key issues around AI ethics and governance, and producing analysts who are well-educated to analyze, interpret, and communicate the AI results to C-level executives.
