Assistant Professor of Economics

Sheryll Namingit, Ph.D.

Sheryll Namingit is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Rollins College. She earned her PhD and MS in Economics at Kansas State University. Sheryll Namingit has a BA in Economics from the University of the Philippines. Her research interests are in labor, health, education and experimental economics. Her current work includes field experiments that aim to examine the effects of illness-related employment gaps and post-baccalaureate certificates on a job applicant’s employment prospects.

Prior to Rollins, Sheryll Namingit has worked as an economic development specialist with the Philippine government and the World Bank. She was involved in the analysis of macroeconomic developments, preparation of macroeconomic forecasts and assessment of fiscal, monetary, financial, external and social policies that shape the overall economic system. She co-authored various World Bank publications including the Philippine Economic Quarterly, The Philippine Development Report of 2009 and a chapter of the book, “The Great Recession and Developing Countries.”
