About the Alumni Course Audit Program

A class audit is, “an educational term for the completion of a course of study for which no grade or assessment is made.” Courses taken through the Alumni Course Audit Program are not for credit, but instead an acknowledgement is made on a transcript with AU (Audit). Alumni do not need to complete assignments or exams unless required by the instructor. Alumni are required to communicate with the Alumni Relations office before the course begins to determine the school and the instructor’s expectations of classroom participation. (see below) The instructor has the discretion to determine if he or she is able to participate in team/individual assignments/exams and provide feedback to auditors. Auditors should bear in mind and respect that the instructor’s prime responsibility is teaching the students, and that the auditors are guests in the classroom. Classes open to alumni are based on seating availability and prior approval by the instructor & the Alumni Relations office.

Although the tuition is waived, auditors are responsible for any class fees or books. If the auditor misses 3 classes or is a no show, will be withdrawn from the class. Upon completion, auditors can request an official school transcript with an acknowledgement grade of AU (audit). All transcript requests need to be ordered through Credentials, Inc. Click here for more details, fee options, and instructions.
